LOUIS — Thousands will flock to Dogtown, the last remaining Irish neighborhood in St. Louis, this weekend for St. Patrick's Day. The 40th anniversary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) St There’s no shortage of ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in St. Louis. The 56th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade brings marching bands, vibrant floats and giant balloons to downtown St. Louis, while the St. Patrick’s Day celebration in Dogtown includes the Ancient Order of Hibernians Parade, more than 100 floats, a merchant village with Irish gifts and plenty of food and drink vendors. The first recorded St. Patrick’s Day festivities in St. Louis were put on in 1820 in an old Irish enclave called Kerry Patch (near where the Dome and America center are today).
